Tank Cleaning — frequently asked
Do you provide gas-free certification?
We prepare the tank to the required condition and coordinate with an independent, accredited marine chemist or competent person who issues the certificate. Keeping certification independent of the contractor doing the cleaning is the correct arrangement and we do not deviate from it.
How is sludge and slop disposed of?
Recovered sludge, slops and oily residues are transferred to approved reception facilities or licensed waste contractors, with manifests and disposal certificates provided for the vessel's MARPOL records.
Can you clean tanks between different cargo grades?
Yes. Grade-change cleaning is planned against the previous and next cargo specification, the wall-wash requirement and the charterer's acceptance criteria, then verified by test before the tank is presented.
